Powerskating & Stick Skills Clinic

Proper skating mechanics are crucial to be a successful hockey player. The camp will work every aspect of skating from defense too forward. The camp will also work on stickhandling, shooting, and passing.

The areas of focus for skating will be:

  • Proper skating mechanics, forward and backward striding, and efficient skating.

  • Maneuvering (forward and backward), edge control, crossovers, power turns, and transitioning with mowhawks and pivots.

  • Quick starts and stops, forward and backward.

The camp will also cover stick skills including:

  • Shooting mechanics – ability to shoot off either foot forehand, shooting backhand with power.

  • Passing – forehand and backhand including saucer pass.

  • Stickhandling and advanced stickhandling including deeks.
